Designing the cover for Marie Strömberg's thought-provoking poetry collection, "Hennes Uppgång och Fall," posed a unique challenge. The book delves into the deeply sensitive theme of violence against women in close relationships. My approach was to craft a cover that subtly and symbolically conveys the pain and darkness surrounding this issue.

The cover art features a captivating pattern formed by a fractured image of a broken lip. Although the original image is subtly integrated and barely recognizable, it is a potent symbol of the obscured pain experienced by women enduring violence within the supposed safety of their homes. This design concept poignantly captures the essence of the book, shedding light on an issue often concealed in the shadows. The cover aims to draw readers in with its intriguing visual, encouraging them to explore the powerful poetry that lies within.
